My darling hubby broke a knob off our faithful little stove some time ago while cleaning. I made me start to wonder how do you properly clean stove knobs without breaking them off. I mean the stove knobs that don’t come off without you having a PHD in safely removing stove knobs.
My world has recently since I have learnt of an easy way to clean stove knobs. The simple trick is to use a toothbrush. You can use an old one. However, I keep a few new toothbrushes on just for cleaning. So I used a new one. Just pour some liquid soap over the toothbrush and start cleaning away. The toothbrush will be able to reach some areas you’ve been so longing to set foot on.
I mean hands!
While you are at it, here are nine more of my favorite cleaning tips…
Use a lemon to help freshen up your sink. Maybe you have just prepared a delicious meal with some ingredients that didn’t leave your sink smelling great. Use a lemon and rub all over your sink and squeeze the juice down the drain. This will freshen things up. Then you can rinse with water after a few minutes.
Want your toilet bowl to smell nice naturally every time you flush? Put a few drops of essential oil in the toilet tank. This will allow you to flush with sweet smelling water and keep your bowl smelling great.
I like keeping a spray top on a bottle of hydrogen peroxide. It is a mild sanitizer and you can use it as a counter spray or even clean your walls with it.
Wipe your cell phones and also house phones with some rubbing alcohol on a regular basis. Those things get held quite a lot, so they can be really dirty. The alcohol will eliminate bacteria.
Use baking soda as an abrasive to remove scuff marks from walls and surfaces. Cover the area with vinegar and using a scour pad to wipe the area clean.
If you are looking for non- toxic ways to clean your toilet, pour some beer in the bowl. You can add some baking soda and also some liquid soap. Use these as your non- toxic toilet bowl cleaner.
If you are having guest over and you don’t want to change the sheets, put a drop of essential oil on a piece of tissue and place it under the mattress. This will give the bed a wonderful smell.
If you have an oil spill, cover the area with baking soda. Then use paper towel or cloth to clean up. The baking soda will absorb most of the grease and cleaning up won’t be so hard.
You can also use a toothbrush to clean the corners of windows and also door jams. Those places are kind of technical to clean and they can creep up and embarrass you when you have guests over for dinner.
